DRILLING WASTE TREATMENT
Anytime drilling waste is handled, equipment must be used. This section
deals with some of the equipment issues in moving, storing, and handling
drilling waste.
DRYING SHAKER
Drying Shakers is used in processing cuttings. It is the first phase solids control equipment in the drilling fluids recycling system, which plays an important role in the waste drilling mud treatment. With a stable and durable drying shaker, it brings to customer both the economical and the environmental benefits.
VERTICAL CUTTINGS DRYER
Vertical Cuttings dryer is sometimes referred to as secondary drying of cuttings. Drilled cuttings with associated fluid from the rig solids-control equipment have been passed over a second drying shaker for a number of years.
SCREW CONVEYOR
Screw Conveyors (Augers) are commonly used to move drilled cuttings and associated fluid. Screw Conveyors can be arranged to collect the cuttings (usually Relatively dry oil-based cuttings) from the individual pieces of solids-control equipment and convey them to another area of the drilling rig where they are used to load cuttings boxes (skips).
CUTTING BOXES
Boxes are the primary method of transporting waste drilling fluid and cuttings to shore around the world. Boxes were developed as an easy method of collecting and transporting cuttings given the weight restrictions of offshore cranes on earlier drilling rigs.
