Shale Shaker Equipment Quick Assembly System

A quick assembly system for shale shaker equipment reduces rig-up time, minimizes the opportunity for assembly errors, and improves the overall efficiency of drilling rig mobilization. Aipu Solids Control has designed its Hunter series shale shakers with quick assembly features that reflect over 15 years of field experience and an understanding of what rig crews need for efficient equipment setup in demanding operational environments.

The quick assembly design begins with the shaker’s modular construction. Key components are designed as integrated assemblies that arrive pre-configured and tested from the factory. Motor assemblies, including the premium Ital-Vibras, Martin, or Oli vibrating motors with their mounting brackets and isolation components, are pre-assembled and balanced at Aipu’s 50,000 square meter Xi’an facility. Screen deck modules arrive with screen retention mechanisms pre-installed and adjusted for proper tension. Electrical junction boxes and control panels are pre-wired and factory-tested before shipment. This modular approach reduces on-site assembly to connecting pre-tested modules rather than constructing the shaker from individual components at the rig location.

Connection systems are designed for speed and reliability. Aipu uses quick-connect electrical systems with keyed connectors that prevent wiring errors during assembly. Each connector is labeled and documented in the assembly drawings, enabling rig crews to complete electrical connections quickly and correctly without specialized training. Structural connections use precision-drilled mounting holes and alignment pins that ensure components assemble in correct alignment without the trial-and-error positioning that consumes time in conventional designs. Motor mounting surfaces are CNC-machined after welding to ensure the flatness critical for balanced vibration, eliminating the need for field shimming or adjustment during assembly. The isolation system uses pre-set spring or mount assemblies that require no field calibration.

The quick assembly system extends beyond initial rig-up to include maintenance and reconfiguration. Quick-change screen retention mechanisms enable the rapid screen inspection and replacement essential for maintaining optimized separation performance. Deck angle adjustment mechanisms from minus 1 degree to plus 5 degrees operate with simple controls that do not require disassembly. Motor replacement, when required at scheduled intervals, uses the same precision alignment features that ensure correct installation. Aipu provides comprehensive assembly documentation with illustrated procedures, tool and equipment requirements, and time estimates for each assembly step. Equipment operating in more than 30 countries validates that quick assembly design translates to faster rig mobilization, fewer assembly errors, and more efficient rig operations throughout the equipment lifecycle. The time saved in assembly and disassembly directly reduces non-productive time and improves drilling program economics.
