The screen is the critical consumable component that determines solids control shale shaker equipment separation performance, throughput capacity, and operating cost. Aipu Solids Control provides a comprehensive range of screen options to match diverse drilling conditions and performance requirements.

Aipu screens span from API 40 to API 200, covering the full operational range from maximum-throughput surface hole drilling to fine-solids removal in production zones. API 40 and API 60 screens serve upper hole sections where high flow rates and large cuttings demand maximum open area and throughput. API 80 and API 100 screens provide balanced performance for intermediate drilling, offering good throughput with finer separation than coarser options. API 120, API 150, and API 200 screens deliver the fine separation required for production zone drilling where formation protection and minimum solids content in the drilling fluid are paramount. All Aipu screens are manufactured to API RP 13C standards, with documented cut points and conductance values that enable informed screen selection.
Frame Material Options
Aipu offers two screen frame materials, each with specific advantages for different applications. Stainless steel frame screens provide maximum durability for abrasive formations, with superior resistance to deformation under high clamping forces and excellent resistance to the elevated temperatures sometimes encountered in geothermal or deep drilling. These are the preferred choice for most oilfield applications. Composite frame screens provide lighter weight for easier handling during frequent screen changes, natural corrosion resistance for water-based and brine drilling fluids, and reduced tendency for oil-based mud to stick to the frame, making them popular in applications where these characteristics provide practical advantages. Both frame types use Aipu quick-change retention system for efficient screen replacement.
Screen Performance Factors
Three key parameters define screen performance: cut point (D50 or D100) indicating the particle size at which 50 or 100 percent is retained; conductance measuring fluid flow capacity through the screen; and non-blanked (open) area determining the proportion of the screen surface available for fluid passage. Aipu provides these performance data for all screen types. The Hunter series quick-change design allows screens to be replaced in minutes without specialized tools, making it practical to adjust screen specifications as drilling conditions change. With over 15 years of screen supply experience and equipment operating in more than 30 countries, Aipu maintains comprehensive screen inventory to support customer operations worldwide.
